Timothy E. Cary

Tim Cary runs Stutman’s California office. Mr. Cary was born in England. He received his law degree from the University of Leicester in 1978, graduating in the top 7% of his class. He also studied at Southwestern University in Los Angeles.

Upon being admitted to the California Bar in 1980 he joined the State Attorney General’s Office in Los Angeles where he tried criminal cases, handled over 100 criminal appeals including death penalty cases, and argued before the California Supreme Court. He also defended the state in numerous tort and civil rights actions in state and federal court, and successfully tried cases in both forums.

Since 1987, Mr. Cary has been in private practice specializing in complex litigation matters with a focus in the areas of construction, construction defect litigation, serious personal injury and property damage subrogation. He recently obtained a $2.7 Million judgment against the State of California for a dangerous condition of public property. Mr. Cary is a member of the Los Angeles County Alternative Dispute Resolution panel as an arbitrator and mediator and he also participates in the Los Angeles County Temporary Judge program.

Mr. Cary is a Past President of the Brea Chamber of Commerce and was voted Brea Business Person of the Year by the Chamber in 2007. He is happily married to his wife Gayle. Mr. Cary has successfully completed three Ironman triathlons and is also a licensed private pilot.
