Prior to joining Stutman Law in 2008, Michael J. Hopkins litigated catastrophic injury and death cases for six years with Saltz, Mongeluzzi, Barrett & Bendesky, P.C., a civil litigation firm that practices primarily in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. During that time period, Mr. Hopkins was instrumental in securing numerous seven and eight figure recoveries on behalf of his clients. His litigation experience was concentrated in construction accidents, electrical accidents, product liability and liquor liability.
Since joining Stutman Law, Mr. Hopkins has litigated and assisted in litigating numerous complex property subrogation matters.  Such matters include the Riverwalk Apartment Complex Fire in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania which resulted in a multimillion dollar recovery on behalf of the Firm’s clients. Over the course of the past several years, Mr. Hopkins has also litigated numerous spontaneous combustion, commercial kitchen fire suppression and electrical accident cases which have resulted in excess of $1,000,000 in recoveries respectively.  Moreover, since joining the Firm, Mr. Hopkins has handled or assisted in handling cases which have resulted in more than $25,000,000 in recoveries for the Firm’s clients.
Mr. Hopkins graduated from Saint Joseph’s University in 1998. Upon graduation, he attended Villanova University School of Law, where he earned his law degree in 2001. While practicing law full-time, Mr. Hopkins earned a LL.M. in trial advocacy from Temple University’s James E. Beasley School of Law in 2005.  Mr. Hopkins is admitted to practice law in the state courts of Pennsylvania and New Jersey. He is also admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the State of New Jersey, United States District Court for the State of Colorado,  United States Court for the Eastern and Western Districts of Pennsylvania and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan.
Mr. Hopkins is a member of the National Association of Subrogation Professionals (NASP). Mr. Hopkins has presented at various conferences on topics such as trial preparation and proving damages in subrogation cases.
