Thomas Underwood joined Stutman Law in 1999. Since he joined the firm, Mr. Underwood has worked extensively on property subrogation cases and has obtained six and seven figure recoveries for his clients in jurisdictions throughout the United States.  Most recently, Mr. Underwood obtained a unanimous jury verdict against Broan-Nutone in the United States District Court for the Northern District of New York.  In that case, the jury found that a fire at a daycare center was caused by a defective Broan exhaust fan.
Mr. Underwood graduated cum laude from the University of Delaware in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science in Economics. He was a Dean’s Scholar at Rutgers University School of Law where he earned a Juris Doctor degree with honors in 1997. Thereafter, Mr. Underwood served as law clerk to the Honorable E. Benn Micheletti in the Superior Court of New Jersey- Law Division.
Mr. Underwood is an active member of NASP and has presented on subrogation topics across the country including a program at the 2014 NASP Annual Conference in Orlando, Florida.
Mr. Underwood is admitted to practice law in the state courts of New Jersey and Pennsylvania, as well as the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Middle Districts of Pennsylvania, the District of New Jersey and the Third and Fourth Circuit Courts of Appeals.
