Record Recovery on Fire Loss Caused by Mid-Line Failure of Armored Electrical Cable

Stutman Law obtained the largest recovery known for the mid-line failure of an armored electrical cable alleged to have caused a fire. A Franklin, Indiana foundry and laboratory facility utilized to design and cast finished machine parts was destroyed by a fire. Following several days of investigation at the loss scene and subsequent laboratory examinations, Stutman Law’s experts determined the fire was caused by a mid-line failure of an armored electrical cable.

Aggressive deposition tactics by Stutman Law attorneys revealed the electrical contractor and his workers were not licensed electricians, had minimal to no experience in performing similar work, had no knowledge of the National Electric Code and that their work violated several provisions of the National Electric Code and standard industry practices. Following the production of expert reports, the firm’s attorneys mediated the case for several days and obtained a confidential settlement, which is the largest known recovery for a mid-line failure of an armored electrical cable.
